Speaking on the incident, the state command spokesperson Abimbola Oyeyemi said the suspects – Abdulahi Anaruwa and Mohammed Suleiman- hacked their colleague to death while trying to steal his cattle.
Garuba Mohammed, the police said was killed on Tuesday, October 28, in the gateway city.
Garuba was grazing his cattle in a bush when the two suspects lured him into a nearby bush and hacked him to death. The police said the suspects ran out of luck when a motorcyclist passing by saw them and alerted the people of the area. He said that was when the police was called into the matter. Oyeyemi also said that after the call, the divisional police officer of Owode Egba Division of the command, Sheu Alao, led his men to the scene and the two suspects were arrested.
